The Wichita Rotary Charitable Fund
The Wichita Rotary Charitable Fund was established in 1983 to support the organization’s community service efforts. Annual income from the Charitable Fund is used for a variety of projects, including the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program, which promotes reading among school-age children by providing books to keep for their very own. Since 1987, Wichita Rotarians have expanded this program to include 20 Wichita schools and provide more than 30,000 books each year for area school children. In addition, many Rotarians volunteer their time each year reading to students and encouraging a lifelong passion for reading.
Other projects funded through the Charitable Fund include Habitat for Humanity, Treats for Troops holiday gift boxes for service men and women overseas, Boundless Playground in Sedgwick County Park, substantial donation each year for our 2011 Centennial Project, Scholastic Children's Dictionaries for 3rd grade students in USD 259, and many other worthwhile community projects
